Designed with a set of features selected to deliver everything customers need without overwhelming them with things they don’t, the HTC Snap makes it easier than ever to stay in contact with life’s most important people.

HTC Snap Specification

A recent study conducted by Harris Interactive® and commissioned by HTC* found that 44% of US adults are often overwhelmed by the amount of email they receive, and over half (55%) of US adults prioritize five or fewer people with whom they communicate via email. In response to these issues, HTC’s innovative Inner Circle feature allows HTC Snap users to press a dedicated Inner Circle key to bring emails from a preselected group of people to the top of their inbox, enabling important messages to be acted upon immediately.

“Recognizing that people are being overwhelmed by an avalanche of email, the HTC Snap introduces Inner Circle, an HTC innovation that makes it easy for people to prioritize messages from the most important people in their lives at the press of a button,” said John Wang, Chief Marketing Officer, HTC Corporation. “The HTC Snap represents the latest step in HTC’s mission to create a range of innovative smartphones, each with specific benefits designed to both surprise and delight our customers.”

With a slim, sleek profile designed to fit perfectly in the hand, the HTC Snap measures less than a half-inch thick (12 mm), yet it can deliver up to eight and a half hours of talk time with the standard 1500mAh battery. The full QWERTY keyboard is ergonomically designed with extra-large domed keys and responsive tactile feedback to make typing emails and text messages fast, accurate and comfortable. High-speed 3G HSPA connectivity makes it quick and easy to send pictures to friends, access favorite social networking sites, or download large files while on the go.

The HTC Snap is powerful enough for experienced business users looking for an affordable, straightforward choice for remotely synchronizing email, calendar and contacts with their Microsoft Exchange server. However, the flexible Microsoft Windows Mobile® 6.1 Standard platform allows the HTC Snap to also be simple enough for first-time smartphone users wanting to keep their family life organized.

The HTC Snap is expected to be available in select channels during the second quarter of 2009, rolling out in markets around the world throughout the second half of the year. Additionally, an unlocked version supporting HSDPA at 850/1900MHz for the US market will be made available under the name HTC S522 during the summer.

Related posts:

HTC Snap specification

Why there is no WM5 for my device available?

HTC New Generation Touch Cruise

How to Unlock/Flash HTC Universal using Windows Vista

HTC devices

flashing

HTC Universal

SIM unlock

Vista

Strictly - AT YOUR OWN RISK Your device should be in Boot Loader mode (press and hold power, light and softreset button) Connect device to your computer Go to Computer Management (Device Manager) in Vista, Right-click Computer in Start Menu and select manage (see step 1) In Computer Manager open Device Manager (step 2) Follow step 3 and 4 Note: It happened to me and I have no idea why.
Related posts:

[HTC Universal] SIM Unlock – free for $0 !!!

[HTC Universal] How to dump the ROM using d2s command

[HTC Himalaya] How to install bootsplash image

Good News for those of us who have problems unlocking/flashing Universal using Windows Vista!
It IS possible to do this now!

VISTA has new (WM Device Center, former ActiveSync) drivers which do not recognize the older files/software on our Universal. The key is that we force-install these previous drivers to Vista to help it let us run the RUU/Sim Unlock software. During this tedious process you will come across messages from Vista like: Windows already has up-to-date drivers, so it cannot update.

IGNORE all such msgs and don’t give up :)

Follow this link and download the required files:
http://www.4shared.com/file/91609041/50f8cbef/USB_MODEM_VISTA.html

Extract the USB Modem Vista in a new folder on, say, your desktop.

Strictly – AT YOUR OWN RISK

Your device should be in Boot Loader mode (press and hold power, light and softreset button)

Connect device to your computer

Go to Computer Management (Device Manager) in Vista, Right-click Computer in Start Menu and select manage (see step 1) [You can also go to Control Panel and click the Device Manager icon]

In Computer Manager open Device Manager (step 2)

Follow step 3 and 4

Note: It happened to me and I have no idea why. Instead of “Mobile Devices” in the device manager list, I could only see “Portable Devices”. I did see “Mobile Devices” but it kept switching between “Mobile Devices” and “Portable Devices” during the many times I tried doing it.

After step 4 browse to the folder where you extracted the USB Modem Vista and choose next.
It will install the active sync drivers to Vista and you will be able to unlock/flash.

Use Exit BootLoader file to exit boot-loader mode (you can also install drivers without flashing the device)
YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO EXIT BOOTLOADER MODE! EVEN BEVORE FLASHING!

Now run the SIM Unlocker tool or treat your device with a new ROM update following their specific guidelines.

I would like to Thank Buzz (for SIM Unlocker) and Duanes, member at (XDA Developers) for the enlightening guide and drivers/software to Unlocking/Flashing in VISTA.

I have achieved the above results using the process described above. However, use of the drivers and flash/unlock software should be made/done strictly AT YOUR OWN RISK. In no way shall I, this forum, and all names mentioned herein may be held responsible for any losses/damages incurred with the use of these utilities or software.
Regards and Happy Unlocking/Flashing in VISTA!

Related posts:

[HTC Universal] SIM Unlock – free for $0 !!!

[HTC Universal] How to dump the ROM using d2s command

[HTC Himalaya] How to install bootsplash image

vCard over IP Denial of Service exploit

HTC devices

Latest News

Mobile Security

Windows Mobile

exploit

HTC Touch

HTC Touch Cruise

security

source code

The source code for HTC Touch vCard DoS exploit
Related posts:

HTC Touch vCard over IP Denial of Service

SonyEricsson WAP Push Denial of Service

Delay loading of a service by adding a dependency

Below is the source code for HTC Touch vCard DoS exploit

#! /usr/bin/env python
